Hyperspace Chatter: Osiris Command

Another Crud Week…

Blar…

I’ve felt lousy all week from a motivational standpoint. Some… complications… with people caused me to obtain a general miasma of lethargy. Rest assured, these complications do not pertain to the artistic team of Prokop and Allison, no sir! More the possible dissolution of another creative team before it really got started. A little bummed. Also left Comic of the Month, but joined Palace in the Sky. So.. we’ll see how or *IF* that works out. In the meantime, I’m just gonna do a double-update on Monday. My neck hurts a LOT right now, so I really don’t feel like finishing the comic in front of me, or even adding the dialog to pages 7 and 8 right now. Sorry. ;_;

Double update on Monday. No excuses.

Howdy

Hello everyone, this is your artist speaking! It was suggested that I come introduce myself (I believe the exact phrase was, “blog, damn you!”, haha), so here’s a summary of my thoughts on SDH.

I don’t put a lot of stock in ideas like fate, but working on a sci-fi comic seemed inevitable for me. After all, I grew up dangerously close to the future birthplace of Captain Kirk and learned decently fluent Ewok long before the more practical foreign languages of French and Japanese. Space drama is in my blood, although I hadn’t touched on it for several years prior to being recruited for this story. Ultimately, I can’t even articulate how happy I am to be working on this project.

As for an actual introduction, I’m an art student going into my sophomore year at the Savannah College of Art and Design. My day job is at Aeropostale, which is great, because I’m a terrible clotheshorse. I do most of my artwork very late at night, so if you’re looking to talk to me, the timeframe with the best odds is 1-3 a.m. Central time. My interests are all over the place, but I’m especially fond of theatre, video gaming, and drawing on the faces of politicians in TIME magazine. Check out the link to my Deviantart gallery if you’d like to see more of my art, and otherwise, enjoy the comic!

SQUEEEEEEEE! It’s finally here!

I know, “giddy as a schoolgirl” should probably be reserved for… schoolgirls and not 30-something men like me. But I can’t help it! This is the first page of a project almost 2 years in the making, and I am very pleased with how it looks. I’ll save some space here for Grace to leave her comments when she’s conscious enough to bask in the glory of her first REAL webcomic page. *grins*

Tune in next week for page 3!

Ruminations and Stuffs…

So here it is, at last. I’m actually a bit more excited about this particular plotline than I am about Starship Moonhawk or Cosmic Feline. I think it’s largely because this one is slightly more ambitious in both scope and economy of plot. Y’see, Starship Moonhawk’s pilot story is STILL GOING after over 2 years. It will end up being 168 pages or so. Cosmic Feline starts out with an 84 page plot! (getting smaller!) Meanwhile, Space Destroyer Hunter’s opening arc? 56. Yep. That’s right… 56!

So we already know how long it is, and what happens. No mystery, no last minute mad-dash. It’s done. It’s been in the can for a year-and-a-half. It just took me this long to find the right artist to produce it. And Grace is it, I tell ya. No doubt, she has some rough edges. Comes with the territory: she’s an art student studying sequential design. (a fairly ambitious field) but I just can’t quite articulate what it is… her art is just… it’s sexy. It’s a diamond in the rough. I’m really super pleased to have found her and hopefully I have sufficient skill to help guide her until her classes and theory catch up. With that said, I personally have had to do very little to keep her on track. She’s a hell of a self-started, and has a dumptruck full of can-do attitude. I don’t want to swell anyone’s ego, but aside from some very minor communication hiccups early on (largely technological in nature), she has been the consumate professional, and I consider myself fortunate to be working with her.

Much the way I consider myself very fortunate to be working with the varried talents of ALL of the artists who have now dedicated themselves to the Starship Moonhawk and related indica cause. :)

Thank you for visiting us, and I hope you enjoy reading and watching as much as I enjoyed producing it.
